Today is Champions League day on TV.
We're in the midst of the playoff phase, which consists of six aggregate-goal series in which the victors will be awarded the six remaining slots in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Away goals, as previous season, will not be used as a tiebreaker at any time in the campaign. Instead, if the aggregate score remains tied after the second leg, teams will go to extra time and, if required, penalty kicks.
How to Watch Champions League in the United States
In the United States, CBS (English) and Univision are the exclusive broadcasters of Champions League soccer (Spanish).

CBS broadcasts every match live on Paramount+, with select matches being shown on CBS or CBS Sports Network. Univision distributes select matches across its television networks (Univision, TUDN, UniMas, and Galavision), as well as via its ViX streaming platform.
Any matches broadcast on CBS or Univision may also be seen on fuboTV.

The group stage of the 2022-23 Champions League is a sprint unlike any prior previous event.
Due to the World Cup in Qatar, all club soccer throughout the world must close by mid-November. As a result, UEFA has condensed the six group stage matchdays into less than two months from start to finish, which is 5-6 weeks faster than prior editions.
That means the participating teams will have very little break, since weekend domestic matchups and midweek Champions League battles will follow one after the other, putting managers through a balancing act unlike any they've seen before.

Eight Champions and four League clubs advanced to the Playoffs after the first four rounds of competition. Benfica had the most substantial advantage in leg one, defeating Dynamo Kyiv 2-0. The Associated Press contributed reporting.
GENEVA, Switzerland (AP) – A source familiar with the transaction told The Associated Press on Friday that the Champions League will remain on CBS in the United States for another six years, with parent company Paramount spending $250 million per year to renew its key European soccer rights through 2030.
This is a 250% increase over the previous agreement, beginning with the 2024-25 season, when a new competition structure results in a 50% increase in the number of games. Because the transaction has not been publicized by Champions League organizer UEFA, the individual spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The current Paramount agreement for English language rights for 2021-24 is for $100 million each season.
In May, CBS set a new record for a Champions League final broadcast in English, with 2.76 million viewers for Real Madrid's 1-0 victory against Liverpool.
The Spanish language rights in the United States, which are now owned by Univision for around $40 million every season through 2024, have not yet been sold, according to the AP.
The six-year arrangement is out of the ordinary for UEFA and its sales department, which generally gives three-year Champions League rights.
In 2024, the tournament will be redesigned, with 36 clubs instead of the current 32 competing in a single league table rather than conventional four-team groups, followed by an extended knockout phase.
Starting in 2024, the format change will provide Paramount and other rights holders 189 games every season instead of the current 125.
It's the latest example of an American broadcaster paying more to show European soccer in advance of the United States hosting the World Cup in 2026 alongside neighbors Canada and Mexico.
