This week, the Delaware Wilmington Country Club will host the 2022 BMW Championship, the second round of the 2022 FedEx Cup Playoffs. Here is all you require to follow the competition.
Preliminary BMW Championship
We now have a new player at the top of the standings after the FedEx Cup Playoffs' opening tournament of this year: Will Zalatoris. The 26-year-old rising talent has been making waves on the Tour for the past two years, particularly at the majors, but before the beginning of the playoffs, he had never won a championship.
All of that changed on Sunday when Zalatoris won his first Tour match at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on the strength of a scorching putter. With only two events left, the victory propelled him into the top slot in the FedEx Cup rankings, where he was already highly rated.
At Wilmington Country Club, the first one—this week's BMW—begins on Thursday morning. The top 70 players, including betting favorites Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, who both missed the cut last week, will compete against Zalatoris.
Only the top 30 competitors will remain when the BMW is over in order to compete in the Tour Championship, the playoff's grand finale, next week at East Lake.
The BMW Championship will be broadcast on TV by Golf Channel and NBC, and it will be streamed online via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and NBCSports.com.
