Following their preseason tour of Asia, Liverpool resumed their preparations for the upcoming 2022–23 season with a training camp in Austria. They will now wrap things up with a friendly match against Red Bull Salzburg tonight.
The Reds had earlier this month defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 in Singapore and lost 4-0 to Manchester United there before traveling to Germany and thrashing RB Leipzig 5-0. They will now want to beat RB Salzburg to extend their winning streak.
The Red Bull team won the Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup championships last season and advanced to the UEFA Champions League round of 16. They have already won their first match in each domestic tournament for the 2022–23 season.
Prior to the start of their top-flight campaign against Fulham on August 6, Liverpool will visit RB Salzburg on July 27 as part of their preparations for the 2022–23 Premier League season.
After losing to Manchester United in Bangkok, Jurgen Klopp's team bounced back to beat Crystal Palace 2-0 to round up their Asia trip.
The Reds defeated RB Leipzig 5-0 in their return to Europe, and they will now cross into Austria to face partner club Salzburg.
The Community Shield match against Manchester City will come after this one on July 29, and then the Champions League runner-up will meet Ligue 1 team Strasbourg at Anfield the following day.

Team News.
While they are back in league action this Saturday, RB Salzburg has already started its 2022/23 season with two 3-0 triumphs over SV Fugen in the Austrian Cup First Round on July 15 and Austria Vienna in the league last Friday. As a result, manager Matthias Jaissle can decide to make adjustments in order to give priority to upcoming competitive activity.
The Austrians must deal with a number of wounds, though. While standout player and Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko could start at the top, midfielders Samson Tijani (leg), Ousmane Diakite (ACL), 18-year-old Justin Omoregie, and center defender Kamil Piatkowski are all out with injuries.

The FA Community Shield match against Premier League winner Manchester City comes on Saturday, therefore Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp may decide to mix up the lineup here in order to keep players fresh for the weekend.
Despite this, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all still out injured; however, Joe Gomez might play here having returning to the bench last time out after overcoming an injury scare. Naby Keita will try to play against his former team, and Darwin Nunez, who scored four goals in last week's 5-0 victory against RB Leipzig, should get the start.
